A Few Pictures of Your Picnic, Angels!

The Polar Bear Picnic
Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008
Kingsport, TN
Praise The Boss!
No rain, although the temperatures were a little more comfortable for polar bears than for humans!
Isabelle Bite Me from MI represented the Wheel Corgis well.
Amongst the former CorgiAid dogs in attendance were Bob Who Fell Off A Cliff (shown with his parents Jennifer and David) and McNair.
Members of the CorgiRescue List gathered for a solemn ceremony to bestow rescue's lowest honor on their listowners, Debbiemom and Milliemom.
The Golden Spade Award was presented to them for their tireless efforts in rescue.  The beautiful golden spades also double as pooper scoopers.
The ever-handsome Darwyn, demonstrating the flying squirrel position, brought his humans Bill and Marilyn to the picnic.
As corgi balloons bobbed in the foreground, our president Vicki tried her first ever Moon Pah.
(She could even pronounce it correctly!)
What does a film producer look like?  This is Angelo.  You couldn't ask for nicer guys and better sports than he and his crew were.  He even judged Best costume for us!
Costume contestants included Buzz and Hayley Boo and Maddie and Noelle Marie Doodlybug.

The winner was Aine from IN dressed as a princess.
Louis and Digby
Barney Belyea & Shorty
Lily Woof Fluff
Some of the Fluffiest Fluff Contestants
Robin's fluffy brace, Shorty & Barney won fluffiest fluff.
Rev. Linda Coffey blessed each dog.  She even did some long distance blessings for those unable to attend.  Here she prays for some of the animals whose pictures we had.
The Blessing of the Animals
Wes of Pemintenn gets blessed.  Wes was enjoying a reunion with his wife Hayley Boo and his daughter Barnianne, among other relatives.
Janey and JoJo at left and Connor and his mom Betsie at right perform during the tricks contest of Barney's Beauties.
Best trick was won by Shiner.
Our Hedgie Relay was led this year by our scooter dogs and their moms.  They also won some contests themselves.  Alfie T. Fluff on the left, owned by Bill and Edie, won the Mikey Fleming Memorial Best Smile Award.  Little doodlebug sized Aine owned by Kassie and Joni won Best Costume and Youngest Corgi.
J.P. owned by Jane Freels won Biggest Ears.
Other winners included:
Loudest Bark--Buzz Neff
Oldest Corgi--Micah Williams
Best Tail On a Pem--Bob the Tail
Traveled the Farthest--Isabelle Bite Me
Lowest Tummy to the Ground--Hardy Dutton
Best corgi Mix--Barney Belyea
A good time was had by all!
People came and went all day long.  At the end of the day, the film crew gathered everybody for a group shot.  These are the hardy souls who had stuck with us to the end.
